8 Unconventional Gift Ideas For Women In Their Thirties

gift giving for women in their 30s

Gift giving is fun but the searching can be stressful. If a present doesn’t automatically spring to mind you can find yourself endlessly scrolling through websites looking for something that you hope your friend likes and end up panic buying a mug printed with a picture of you two from your 2013 Ibiza holiday. I mean that’s cute but you can do better. Many times I have found myself researching gift ideas for my 30 something friends and I’m bored of the current recommendations out there!

If like me you’ve decided an Amazon voucher or nail varnish won’t cut it anymore, then check out this list of 8 unconventional, but thoughtful gift ideas for women in their thirties.
Psst, you can click on the images to go to the relevant sites.

A Sports Bra - For The Active Person

Anyone with boobs that does physical exercise needs a sports bra. And it’s hard to find a good one. Do your research or sneakily ask her if she already has a favourite.

You could buy her a gift voucher for the brand she likes or go with her to get a professional sports bra fitting. Trust me, both your friend and her breasts will thank you! And you can bet no one else has thought of this.

Supplements - For the Health Conscious Type

Supplements might seem like a strange gift to give, but it’s actually incredibly thoughtful to be thinking about someone’s health. Especially if you know they have a particular concern such as stress or sleep.

If you don’t know where to start with supplements, I got you. The Nue Co. offers a wide range targeted at Sleep, Skin, Mood and more. Making it super easy to shop for someone else and the reviews speak for themselves.

Wellness Retreat - For The Mindful Friend

If it’s a big birthday like their 30th and you’re looking for an extra special birthday gift, The Wholefood Warrior offers 2 retreats. I booked the Ibiza one and sadly it got cancelled due to Covid, but I plan to go to the next one (a birthday gift to myself).

Who doesn’t love a weekend of yoga, mindfulness and nutritional goodness?

Donation - For The Selfless Souls

Unsure what to buy someone who has everything? Or if you know your friend is not that fussed about presents but you still want to get them something, donating is a great option. My sister who doesn’t like Christmas gifts is always asking for the money to be donated instead.

You could choose a charity close to their heart or adopt an animal. Check with them first if they have a preference on the charity.

Self Defence Class - For Anyone!

Every woman should take a self defence class, it’s an essential skill to have plus it’s a fun way to keep fit. I haven’t put a link in this one as you’ll need to find a class in your area but you can pop into your search engine box; ‘Women’s Self Defence Classes Near Me’. Maybe you can get a 2 for 1 deal and go as well!

Lumie Light - For Those Needing An Uplift

We all know the last few years haven’t been easy for our mental wellbeing and supporting a friend with their mental health is a wonderful gift idea.

Give your 30-something friend the gift of sunlight with a Lumie lamp. These clever light therapy lamps are designed to help you wake up and tap into your sleep/wake cycle. Known as natural mood-boosters, using one of these lamps can leave you feeling uplifted and energised.

The Natural Love Company - For Some Self-Love

The Natural Love Company do sex toys differently; they are sustainable, eco-friendly and vegan, plus aesthetically pleasing and pleasing just in general!

Even if you decide not to gift this to your friend’s in their 30s, then maybe a birthday present to yourself? Because we could all do with a bit more self-love!

Book Subscription - For The Bookworm

For my 30th Birthday, a friend gifted me a 6 month Rare Birds Book Club subscription (I am sure there are other ones). And every month I would log on and choose between Book A or Book B from only reading a small snippet, I still wouldn’t know which book I had ordered until it arrived. It felt like a present every month!

There are multiple subscription offers to choose from and an entire Gift section on the website. It’s the gift that keeps on giving!

If you end up choosing one of the gifts I have suggested, let me know! Or if you have any other unusual, quirky or random birthday gift ideas for your 30 something friends, please share them in the comments below.
